B. Munro Roberts Biography

B Munro Roberts was born and educated in Dundee, Scotland. He studied at the internationally acclaimed Scottish College of Textiles in Galashiels where he graduated with a first class honours degree in Clothing Design. During his studies he specialised in evening wear and his research into drape in women’s evening wear has greatly influenced his exquisite taste and style in the designs which he now produces. During his time in Galashiels he won several awards including the Galashiels Manufacturers Corporation Medal and the Ede and Ravenscroft Award. He also designed an outfit for Radio 1 entertainment journalist, Steve McKenna, which was worn at the 2001 Oscars Awards in Los Angeles.

B Munro Roberts opened in Kelso in 2002, and since opening has produced a wide range of couture designs for customers from  Scotland, England and Northern Ireland. All garments are presently individually created for each customer, but a range of off-the-peg designs will be available for Christmas 2006.
